Emily is a GIS enthusiast and aspiring data analyst based in New York City. She comes to the geospatial industry with eight years of experience in environmental conservation, education and outreach. Along her path, she developed a deep interest in using geospatial tools to inform decisions and communicate data in engaging ways.
She unified her passions by completing a GIS Certificate in 2022. Some of her interests are in spatial data science, remote sensing, 3-D modeling, landscape ecology and strategic planning. She consistently seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge with diverse geospatial projects. Currently pursuing a Data Analytics Certificate, she looks forward to exploring a variety of domains, technologies and methodologies.
Emily advocates for the professional status of women and underrepresented genders in the geospatial industry by contributing with W+ G. She is excited to grow with a supportive community and take part in expanding the network globally while empowering each other.
Blending professional and personal interests, she recently began creating maps for tabletop games with friends. At her leisure, she also enjoys traveling, rock climbing, and watching movies.
Emily holds a GIS Certificate from the Metropolitan State University of Denver and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the State University of New York, College at Oneonta.
