Joy welcomes challenges as they push her to be creative when problem-solving and inspire her to learn new things. Through a software engineering course at Moringa School, she improved her Python skills, and she is eager to use the knowledge and abilities she has gained to address critical issues. She is also the WiG+ National Point of contact for Kenya since late 2022 where one of her roles is coordinating and leading a team of volunteers to organise country-based events and activities in line with W+G overall guidelines.
In 2020, she participated in the URISA Student and Young Professional Digital Competition and emerged in the top 5, and has since been a member of the organisation. She was awarded the Youthmappers 2021 Best Blog award for her blog “ I’m Just Getting Started!”
