Heather is currently Senior Geospatial Analyst at the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS) where she is responsible for undertaking and assisting with geospatial analysis that supports statistical outputs for Census. She leads a team of analysts who work to produce results and improve disaggregation for the UK’s reporting of the Sustainable Development Goals. She is also a key contributor to the UN-GGIM Europe Working Group on Data Integration.
Heather completed an MSci in Geology in 2012 and then worked in the marine survey sector for Fugro. She subsequently undertook an MSc in Geographical Information Systems at the University of Southampton and graduated in 2018 with distinction.
Since 2019, Heather has been a member of the Women+ in Geospatial steering committee, co-leading the mentorship programme, which helps support and develop women and people from under-represented genders across the globe to further their careers.
