Alina joined Women+ in Geospatial in 2020 and was part of the 3rd Mentorship cohort in 2021. She took up the role as Point of Contact for Germany and later became Regional Ambassador for Europe, through which she leads the European activities.
She currently works at the European Space Agency (ESA-ESRIN) in Italy, where she explores the use of Earth Observation for Coastal Ecosystems and Blue Carbon. Before this, Alina was part of the German Aerospace Centers (DLR) Global Seagrass Watch project.
Alina holds a master’s degree in Applied Geography with a focus on geoinformatics and climate, and bachelor’s degree in Georesources Management with a focus on ocean geochemistry from the RWTH Aachen University in Germany. During her studies she spent one year at Imperial Collage London and half a year at the National Taiwan University.
